  • No private or licensed datasets.

Tools and repositories

  • bibliometrics — main analysis notebook.
  • whowriteswho — code for the companion site.
  • whowriteswho.github.io — published site.
  • Visualization: igraph, ggraph, and D3 on the published site.

How to contribute

  1. Reproduce the metadata fetch against a small date range.
  2. Propose one refinement to author disambiguation, backed by a failing test case.
  3. Add one new community-level figure with a one-paragraph interpretation.

Pitfalls

  • Author disambiguation is never perfect. Report the ambiguity rate alongside any author-level metric.
  • OpenAlex is updated continuously. Cache the metadata pull per analysis run so results are reproducible.
